RFID Based Security gadgets
RFID or radio frequency identification has been a revelation in the field of security. RFID systems make use of radio frequency waves to keep track of your belongings. There are many security system based on RFID technology. In this article we will discuss about some of the RFID security system.
RFID systems were primarily used for tracking and identification purposes. The earlier RFID tracking system barely has a readability of 3 meter. As the technology advanced, RFID systems also kept improving. Now we can easily get RFID systems that can be scanned up to a 100 meters. RFID tracking systems were initially in the form of tags and chips.
RFID tags were used to prevent burglary. You can tag any object you want to protect using a RFID tag. There will be a small corresponding monitoring device for every tag. Like all other security systems it also allows you to set a comfort zone. Once the tagged object go beyond the comfort zone an alarm will set off in the corresponding monitoring device. This technique was mainly used to secure the electronic gadget.
The RFID technique is also famous among cattle farmers, as the used to tag the cattle using RFID tag. This helped them to secure their cattle from thieve. The RFID chips were also used for this purpose. The only difference is RFID chips are planted beneath the skin of the animal. This technique wasn’t that popular as it had many disadvantages.
The invention of RFID biometric ink revolutionizes the field of security systems. The RFID ink can be stamped or tattooed to the object that has to be tracked. The RFID ink is chemically inert and it doesn’t contain any kind of metal what so ever. As a result it can be safely used on living things also. The cattle farmers started to use this technique as this system provides better protection. More over it can’t be removed as it is tattooed to the body of the cattle.
Lately there was also an improvement in range and memory of the RFID system. This opened the door for an all new series of security gadgets. As result of the improvement in range and memory, RFID systems were wildly used by the food industry. It was initially used to track the foods that have been transported to the market. Now a day it’s been used for many other purposes.
The RFID system is used to measure the temperature and humidity in which the food material is transported. It’s also used to calculate the shelf life of the food material. This is done by integrating the temperature measure of the shelf in time line. RFID systems are also used for automated shipment of the food materials.
Although RFID has this much to offer there is still room for improvement. The main problems faced by an RFID system are the lack of standardization. The frequency allowed for an RFID system changes from country to country, this will do no good for the system.

I am looking for a solution to instert into the animal and that can be scanned at a distance of around 50M. This is purely to be used as a security measure. mark@crimesecure.za.net
